A Dream

Growing up I always wanted a pool. We had the space, but my parents never saw the importance of the pool as I did. We were members of a local community pool, which I LOVED, and have great memories of. I was a member of the swim team, The Thunder Chickens, and I looked forward to swimming at practice in the morning and then hanging at the pool the rest of the day with my friends. That was the life! Well, Yonas now has his OWN pool. It's a bit smaller than the pool I envisioned for myself years ago, but he LOVES it anyway. Here is our little swimmer!mer!

The Kissing Bandit

Yonas is all about giving kisses at the moment. If you are in the vicinity, watch out, he is moving in for a little sweet one. How could you not want to kiss this little face?

My Little Reader

Yesterday it was too quiet in our house. You know THE quiet. The quiet that means your little pea is either playing with the printer, eating the animals' food or putting your clothes in the bathtub. When I heard THE quiet, I immediately started running through the house looking for the little stinker. Then, there he was, in our reading corner looking through his books. A man after his mother's heart!

Happy Father's Day

Here are my boys at their favorite place yesterday...the zoo! Chris didn't want to do anything special for Father's Day, since it is a very "American" holiday. I did, however, make him buster bars, his favorite, and a gift is on the way. (Something every good Englishman can't live without:)

A Recap

Yes, we are still alive. Here is a little recap of the past week or so.
  • How about those Penguins? Sorry fellow Michiganders, but how amazing is it for one city to have 2 major champions in the same year? Yoni is showing his support.

  • I taught my first week of grad class, and I loved it!!! The first day of class one of my students said,"You're the teacher? You are so young." Not exactly a vote of confidence.

  • We are still working on the house. We need to do more painting and planting and everything else.

  • We have met some great people already. We had dinner at a neighbors' last night who are expecting their first baby, and then we met another couple who are adopting from Ethiopia!!! How amazing is that? Another little Ethiopian within walking distance from our house.

  • Yoni is getting to know this new season that we call summer. He never experienced this in the mountains. He never wants to come inside.

England, England, England

This is the beginning, middle and end of an English soccer song that Chris likes to sing. They just continuously repeat England to a tune that, I hate to say, is a bit catchy. Here is Yonas on his way to a friend's birthday party, sporting his English pride thanks to his English grandparents! I don't know how much longer Yoni will be able to wear that top if his belly gets any bigger:)
